Rothesay Ballet School is proud to be associated with the Royal Academy of Dance. Founded in 1920 to set standards for dance teaching in the UK, today RAD has a presence in 79 countries, with 36 offices and approximately 14,000 members worldwide. They count more than 1,000 students in their teacher training programmes and more than a quarter of a million students are being examined on the RAD syllabi. They support their membership through the knowledge and expertise of highly qualified staff and through conferences, workshops, courses and summer schools.

Rothesay Ballet School offers exam programs beginning with Grade 1 ballet through to Advanced. Students must take two RAD classes per year to be eligible to take the exam. Progression to the next grade is not dependent on exam results. Exams are optional but recommended.
